  • Having graduated from Miami and DTD, I joined an organization in Dayton, OH. I was successful linking up three brothers (who graduated after me) with interviews and opportunities within the same organization and each of stayed together for another 20 to 30 years due to our professional careers. Naturally, our social relationships extended beyond work and we still are very close.
  • 40 years as a Doctor of Optometry and Oculist. 3 wonderful kids and wife. 2 grandkids in Charlotte and one on the way in Chicago.
  • Long time hunter - been to Africa 7 times, have 11 animals in the Safari Club International Record book. Have represented 3 different hunting concessions in Africa.

As an alumni association, we strive to keep you connected with the Gamma Upsilon chapter long after graduation. What could we do to encourage you to become more active in the association? Perhaps by hosting more fun events? Any other advice?

  • Do periodic status reports on every alum
  • Living in Colorado, it would be difficult "geographically speaking" to attend regular meetings. However, I would be interested in attending an annual event. I must say that I am disappointed in National not taking proactive measures with the Gamma Upsilon chapter to insure exhaustive hazing would not be tolerated. This chapter has experienced multiple enormous penalties over the past 10-20 years by getting "kicked off campus". What do you think? What can be fulfilled to eliminate these penalties?
  • It requires more effort on the individual. I would be happy to help.
  • The Delt classes of GU have met at least once every ten years since the 1950's. They currently are talking about another reunion that would occur at the Mu Alum reunion in 2020. John Altman and Jack Orcutt will coordinate it-if it happens
  • Reds games. Breweries. Golf outings
  • Advice: bring Gamma back slowly with only first class pledges: Better to be smaller and good than bigger and only average.
  • Maybe hosting a yearly get together locally

Thank you for sharing your touching memories and your opinions. Your words mean something to us, brothers. We have heard you and will act on your advice.
